How to setup Facebook conversion pixel on WordPress
Looking to use Facebook ads to convert users? Have you stumbled across the conversion pixel when creating your ads but have no idea what it is? Read this guide to find out why you want to be using it with your campaigns and how to install it on your WordPress blog.
Setting up a Facebook conversion pixel sounds like a really complicated task. In reality with the thanks to a few wordpress plugins it has been simplified tremendously.
What is a conversion pixel
Taken from Facebook;
Conversion pixels are used to signal events that happened while the user was browsing your website like viewing a product, registering or even adding a product to his cart.
In layman’s terms its a bit of code you place on your page that communicates back to Facebook that a user have arrived at the intended page, ie a conversion. Many people make a mistake of putting the code on the same page as there landing page that users will initially see. You should add the code to a page you want your users to see once they have converted (submitted an email or purchased something).

Luckily for wordpress users there are plugins for everything and thankfully there are a few plugins that will insert the conversion pixel into your page.
The plugin I use is https://wordpress.org/plugins/facebook-conversion-pixel/.
It’s very handy in that it adds a box just below the editor where you can add the tracking pixel. It takes all the complication out of the process and has worked perfectly for me.
Installing the plugin
I’m sure most of you know how to install a plugin on your wordpress blogs but if you don’t – In your WordPress dashboard go to Plugins > Add New and search for ‘Facebook Conversion Pixel’, you are looking for the plugin created by Kellen Mace, click install and then activate.
Now when you go to your page you want to add a tracking pixel to you will see the box appear below the editor.
Creating your conversion pixel
I created this quick guide to show you how to set it up and add it to your blog.
